Dec 25 Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone...Happy Birthday Jesus. This is the reason we celebrate..or it should be.
We had a pretty day today and the weather was mild. We opened our presents and then took Lady for a walk on the beach. She loves it.
We met at 1:00 for our pot luck . There were over 150 people attending the luncheon. The dinner was set up where each table had the same foods and 16 people per table so there wasn't a long line to wait through. Each table was decorated how ever you wanted it decorated. Some people went all out with china and crystal and some with paper plates. After dinner we sat around with our feet up watching tv. We have the box set 24 and that show is addictive.
We we'll be at this park another week before we move on.
Everyone can recoup tomorrow from all the stress and running around from the last few days.
take care

Dec 19th Wed

It's Dec 19 I have the windows up, I can hear wave crashing on the beach and I'm watching my Christmas tree. It's so pretty. I just love watching the lights change. It's funny what makes us smile. We've had a great couple of days. The weather has been warm. We got supplies on Monday and then took the ferry over to another town yesterday to check out another rv park for Jan. That was my first ferry ride and it was good. Of course I could see the other shore, the trip took about 3 minutes..but it's shorter than going back through Corpus Christi. Today we hung around the rv and I actually did chores (Reid didnt). I had laundry to do and I baked a pie. I took a walk around the park too. I'm trying to do that daily, it's something I have to get back into. Reid rode his bike some, I'm not sure how much. George and Wilma got here today. We hadn't seen them since June so it was great catching up with them. They will be here for several days so we'll get to see them alot. Not sure if we have any plans tomorrow I'm sure we'll find something to do.

Dec 16 Sunday

Where is my 70 degree weather..
We've been traveling since Friday. We had to leave Titusville and head toward TX. We had to say goodbye to Nancy and Bob but we've made plans to see them in April...if not before.
On Friday we got almost to Pensacola, FL before stopping for the night. The way the interstate curved I didn't see much of the city. We drove through Mobile on Sat. morning and that was neat. I'd never been through there before and I would have liked to stop and see a few things but that will happen on another trip.. We were on I-10 through Biloxi and didn't see the damage the city suffered. The interstate goes around the city and not the gulf side. We traveled to Lake Charles, La where we stopped for the night. This morning it was 32 degrees. We headed out again to finish the trip. We arrived at Port Aransas about 2 today. We're at the Pioneer RV park on Mustang Island.
We have friends arriving on Wed. (George and Wilma) and then later in the week Larry is arriving.

Dec 13th

70 degress and beautiful weather.
We're getting all packed up and will be leaving tomorrow for a four day drive to texas.
We've really liked it here and are going to miss this place and our friends. (we'll see them again in April and then again in July)
But we're going to met up with another set of friends for a couple of weeks when we get to Tx so that will be fun too.
I was sorry the shuttle didn't go but I also didn't want it to go up with people on board and then something go wrong. There's more going up next yr so maybe we'll come back who knows.
I still have a little packing up to do tonight but not much. Reid got all the outside stuff put away earlier so in the morning we just have to disconnect the tv stuff and the water stuff and we can ride.
I believe we're going to run into some rain on Sat based on what I've seen of the weather situation.
We went out for supper tonight. we (the four of us) heard about a different seafood restaurant and tried it. It too was great. they had other things like prime rib and steaks and chicken so our non seafood eating friends liked it too. This restaurant speciality is rock shrimp, never had it before, it was different but good. They claim it taste like lobster and it's serve split open in the shell like lobster, I liked it find but Reid didn't care for it. He says food shouldn't be work and getting it out of the shell was work.
I'll let you know about our travels over the next few days will be hitting four states in four days.

Dec 9th

Well it's offical the launch has been postponed till at the very earliest Jan 2. We were so hoping to see it launch. The orginal launch date was Thurs Dec 6th and then we went on a maybe tomorrow standby till today and now it's offical.. I can't say it's been a wasted trip, the area and weather has been beautiful. Never been a Florida fan but it's growing on me. I am glad we came. We have another week here before heading toward Texas. Tomorrow we're going back to Kennedy to see the rest of the center and we want to see a couple other sites before we leave on Friday. We've met up with some friends that makes it even more fun. Nancy and Bob will be spending the winter here in FL and we'll see them again in April at the Everest East Rally and Richard and Joanne live in FL so they came up to stay the weekend with us. We met Richard last year at the Everest East rally and just got to met Joanne on this trip. hoping to see them again in April too (this time with Joanne).
Lady is still having fits over the squirrels. They are everywhere. I'm never seen so many in one place. She goes from window to window to watch them. She isn't barking at them like she did when we first got here she just watches them and whines alittle.

Dec 4th

We got to Stephanie's on Nov 25th. She had to work Sunday night and Monday night but we wanted to get there and set up. The first part of the trip was good but the second part from Atlanta to Macon was busy..I guess all the holiday traffic caught up with us so after 3 traffic jams it took over an hour longer than it should taken we arrived in Warner Robins, GA ., Stephanie came over before she left for work she wanted to see the RV. she liked it. We spent the next few days visiting, going out to eat and shopping. what fun we had. Steph had to go back to work on Friday so we headed on south to Valdosta. We lived here in the early 80's. We still have a friend here and he came out to the RV park to visit us for a couple of days. We then headed on to Titusville, FL on Sunday. We can down to see the launch of the shuttle. A couple we know arrived on Saturday. and more friends are arriving tomorrow. Today, Tues we went to the space center. What fun. We took the bus tour "NASA up close" and saw several exhibits. we're going back on Friday to see other things that we didn't get to today. The launched is scheduled for Thursday and there's a great place here at the park to watch the launch, More about the launch experience on Thursday.

Saturday Nov 24

hey everyone. It's been a busy week or so. We pulled the RV into Reid's Mom driveway in Bell Buckle on Nov 16th. We knew that it would be tricky getting it in the drive but Reid did a good job getting it set up. The satelite didn't work cause we were shooting through trees but we had the air card so we have internet. Our tv was another story.. it was in and out but we were so busy doing errands and keeping appointments that it didn't matter. Reid had a dr apt. and it went well. We got to see Stephanie for a brief time. she drove up to see Jessica who was in the hospital so she had thanksgiving dinner with us before visiting Jessica and heading back to GA. It was a quick trip but we knew we would see her again this weekend.
We left on Friday Nov 23 and heading to Knoxville to see Danny. He came by and we went to Famous Daves for supper. Then we heading back to rv park and Danny decided to stay the night. On Saturday we went to the phone store and then came back to the rv to watch football..UT won and it only took 4 overtimes. We had supper then had to say bye to Danny but I had a great time and we're heading to Ga tomorrow to spend a few days with Stephanie.
My Thanksgiving has been like Christmas cause I'm seeing my kids.

Tues Nov 13

We left Tucson after a 3 week stay..We like Tucson and will go back in Jan/Feb. We drove several straight days and met up with our friends, Bob and Nancy. We've been at Natchez Trace State Park for over a week and it's nice here. We will be leaving on Friday heading to Bell Buckle for Thanksgiving. We've stayed at this park several times and enjoy it here. We've been sitting around the campfire at night talking, and laughing. Nancy and I have been rotating the cooking and we've been eating good. Larry, another Everest friend, joined us for a few days last week.
The wild life here has been interesting. We've been seeing deer..small deer but not babies. They look like minature deer, about two feet tall. Last night I saw a fox running through the park. That's the beauty of a state park. There's also a lodge here that we've had lunch a couple of times and it's good. We plan to go back tomorrow. The weather is calling for rain again tomorrow.

Saturday Oct 27

I know it's been a while since I'v posted..I'm sorry..this was a busy week. Reid has seminars for the data storm and there were also sessions for those of us who didn't want to attend something technical..Some of them were about working and living in the rv. decorating ideals for different seasons etc. so I went to some of them and got some good ideals on packing, storing, decorating. I didn't think it would have a lot to do but I did..our meals were catered so I didn't cook all week. I'm fixing baked chicken tonight, Reid needs a home cooked meal he said.
We will be leaving Tucson tomorrow and slowly making our way back to the south. We're stopping in mid NM tomorrow. We're meeting some MI friends that have decided it's time to head south along the way for a few days. Reid and I have been busy putting stuff away today. he takes care of the stuff on the outside and I take care of most of the inside. He does have to put away his "office" stuff I don't touch that. But I've dusted and vac'd everything. lady hates the vac but it did attack her once..funny story. I was using the central vac in the rv and it's basically a hose with attachement the bulk of the thing is outside in a storage bay well I stuck the hose into the wall and it's instantly on and Lady didn't know that and once air hit the hose the hose wiggles and lands on her fur and attached itself she couldn't get away from it. talk about fear in those precious eyes. Now she sees it and shakes and growls..

Monday Oct 22

I decided it has been to long since my last blog. sorry about that. I'll try to do better.
We didn't do a lot last week I didn't feel great and so we stayed in most of the time. It's my allergies..once the wind kicks up I feel it. We did get out and about this weekend. We found our favorite rib place, Famous Dave's, so we had a late lunch/early supper on Saturday and then went to Walmart (that was a mistake) we only picked up what we needed and left. On
Sunday our rally got underway with a pot luck met and greet. That was fun and plenty of food.
Today they had various sessions we could attend. Reid went to one about the internet dish we have on top of the rv and I went to one about hobbies you can do in the rv. it was interesting. Later in the week some of the Ladies with talent are going to show/teach us how to do various crafts/hobbies... Two meals are provided each day so I want be cooking this week. We'll be leaving soon for supper. I'll tell you how supper was later.

Tues Oct 16th

I will be telling about my days and what we're doing. This is our life so everyday want be exciting but I'll share it with you anyway. We've been doing this full time for 5 months now and loving it. If I mispell something you know what I meant ok..
We went to Denny's for lunch today. We get tired of sandwiches..guess what we had....sandwiches....I guess they are better when I don't make them. We're in Tucson for a rally that starts next week. The rally is for data storm users and that's the dish we have on top of our rig. It's for satellite internet. They will have seminars for Reid to learn more about how it works and also other seminars about rv life. I will attend some of those. We've been watching the baseball playoffs and I'm a Brave fan so after they were out we cheered for the Cubs and after that we've been cheering for the Rockies. I'm going to try to add a picture of Lady tomorrow so watch for that.

first post on my blog

Wow I've arrived. I have my blog. Reid set this up for me and now I can run with it. It's Monday in Tucson and the weather is nice. We took Lady for a walk today and then went for our bike ride. We have to start off slow cause we're not use to riding bikes.
