Dec 25 Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone...Happy Birthday Jesus. This is the reason we celebrate..or it should be.
We had a pretty day today and the weather was mild. We opened our presents and then took Lady for a walk on the beach. She loves it.
We met at 1:00 for our pot luck . There were over 150 people attending the luncheon. The dinner was set up where each table had the same foods and 16 people per table so there wasn't a long line to wait through. Each table was decorated how ever you wanted it decorated. Some people went all out with china and crystal and some with paper plates. After dinner we sat around with our feet up watching tv. We have the box set 24 and that show is addictive.
We we'll be at this park another week before we move on.
Everyone can recoup tomorrow from all the stress and running around from the last few days.
take care

Dec 19th Wed

It's Dec 19 I have the windows up, I can hear wave crashing on the beach and I'm watching my Christmas tree. It's so pretty. I just love watching the lights change. It's funny what makes us smile. We've had a great couple of days. The weather has been warm. We got supplies on Monday and then took the ferry over to another town yesterday to check out another rv park for Jan. That was my first ferry ride and it was good. Of course I could see the other shore, the trip took about 3 minutes..but it's shorter than going back through Corpus Christi. Today we hung around the rv and I actually did chores (Reid didnt). I had laundry to do and I baked a pie. I took a walk around the park too. I'm trying to do that daily, it's something I have to get back into. Reid rode his bike some, I'm not sure how much. George and Wilma got here today. We hadn't seen them since June so it was great catching up with them. They will be here for several days so we'll get to see them alot. Not sure if we have any plans tomorrow I'm sure we'll find something to do.

Dec 16 Sunday

Where is my 70 degree weather..
We've been traveling since Friday. We had to leave Titusville and head toward TX. We had to say goodbye to Nancy and Bob but we've made plans to see them in April...if not before.
On Friday we got almost to Pensacola, FL before stopping for the night. The way the interstate curved I didn't see much of the city. We drove through Mobile on Sat. morning and that was neat. I'd never been through there before and I would have liked to stop and see a few things but that will happen on another trip.. We were on I-10 through Biloxi and didn't see the damage the city suffered. The interstate goes around the city and not the gulf side. We traveled to Lake Charles, La where we stopped for the night. This morning it was 32 degrees. We headed out again to finish the trip. We arrived at Port Aransas about 2 today. We're at the Pioneer RV park on Mustang Island.
We have friends arriving on Wed. (George and Wilma) and then later in the week Larry is arriving.

Dec 13th

70 degress and beautiful weather.
We're getting all packed up and will be leaving tomorrow for a four day drive to texas.
We've really liked it here and are going to miss this place and our friends. (we'll see them again in April and then again in July)
But we're going to met up with another set of friends for a couple of weeks when we get to Tx so that will be fun too.
I was sorry the shuttle didn't go but I also didn't want it to go up with people on board and then something go wrong. There's more going up next yr so maybe we'll come back who knows.
I still have a little packing up to do tonight but not much. Reid got all the outside stuff put away earlier so in the morning we just have to disconnect the tv stuff and the water stuff and we can ride.
I believe we're going to run into some rain on Sat based on what I've seen of the weather situation.
We went out for supper tonight. we (the four of us) heard about a different seafood restaurant and tried it. It too was great. they had other things like prime rib and steaks and chicken so our non seafood eating friends liked it too. This restaurant speciality is rock shrimp, never had it before, it was different but good. They claim it taste like lobster and it's serve split open in the shell like lobster, I liked it find but Reid didn't care for it. He says food shouldn't be work and getting it out of the shell was work.
I'll let you know about our travels over the next few days will be hitting four states in four days.

Dec 9th

Well it's offical the launch has been postponed till at the very earliest Jan 2. We were so hoping to see it launch. The orginal launch date was Thurs Dec 6th and then we went on a maybe tomorrow standby till today and now it's offical.. I can't say it's been a wasted trip, the area and weather has been beautiful. Never been a Florida fan but it's growing on me. I am glad we came. We have another week here before heading toward Texas. Tomorrow we're going back to Kennedy to see the rest of the center and we want to see a couple other sites before we leave on Friday. We've met up with some friends that makes it even more fun. Nancy and Bob will be spending the winter here in FL and we'll see them again in April at the Everest East Rally and Richard and Joanne live in FL so they came up to stay the weekend with us. We met Richard last year at the Everest East rally and just got to met Joanne on this trip. hoping to see them again in April too (this time with Joanne).
Lady is still having fits over the squirrels. They are everywhere. I'm never seen so many in one place. She goes from window to window to watch them. She isn't barking at them like she did when we first got here she just watches them and whines alittle.

Dec 4th

We got to Stephanie's on Nov 25th. She had to work Sunday night and Monday night but we wanted to get there and set up. The first part of the trip was good but the second part from Atlanta to Macon was busy..I guess all the holiday traffic caught up with us so after 3 traffic jams it took over an hour longer than it should taken we arrived in Warner Robins, GA ., Stephanie came over before she left for work she wanted to see the RV. she liked it. We spent the next few days visiting, going out to eat and shopping. what fun we had. Steph had to go back to work on Friday so we headed on south to Valdosta. We lived here in the early 80's. We still have a friend here and he came out to the RV park to visit us for a couple of days. We then headed on to Titusville, FL on Sunday. We can down to see the launch of the shuttle. A couple we know arrived on Saturday. and more friends are arriving tomorrow. Today, Tues we went to the space center. What fun. We took the bus tour "NASA up close" and saw several exhibits. we're going back on Friday to see other things that we didn't get to today. The launched is scheduled for Thursday and there's a great place here at the park to watch the launch, More about the launch experience on Thursday.
