First month with Molly

It's only been a week? Why does it seem like a month.. I'm just teasing.. We've had a very busy week here but Molly is confident that we're trainable. The week had been a busy one with all the yard work going on and it's not done yet.. The rock people are coming first thing in the morning to spread rocks.. We're expecting then around 8 and so far everyone has been arriving at the time they say they'll be here which is good. Mom's visit will wrap up on Tues.. She has to be in Vegas at 5 to catch her plane.. We've had a fun couple of weeks.. she's probably bored with us..
Lady has had the most trying week of her life.. Molly just doesn't understand that Lady is the princess.. Once she learns that everything will run smooth in her life again.
I know a lot of our Leisure friends will be on the move the next couple of weeks so you guys be safe and email us to let us know how everything is going.

Sunny 80's and beautiful

Today was just a beautiful day.. I took plenty of walks around the yard with my girls.. (Lady and Molly if you don't know who I'm talking about)
Today was the day that our patio extention was done.. The prep work was done yesterday and today they boarded it up and poured the concrete.. Everyone but me sat on the patio for hours and watched the men work.. I stayed inside with the girls to keep them out of the way and to keep them from barking at the men. (they still barked some) ( you can go on Reid's blog and see pic's of the work)
Reid's aunt and uncle drove up from the Pheonix area to see Mom for a couple of days. We've had a fun visit with them. The four of them sure had fun watching concrete dry.
Tonight we drove over to the Nugget and had supper together then we came back over to the house and Delores showed me a couple of crochet stitches that I didn't know how to do.. they are leaving in the morning to head back to Phoenix.
The gym here was suppose to be offering line dancing but the instructor didn't come back for the winter so I'm taking a Zumba Gold class.. it's for slower stiffer Americans so I should fit right in.. I went on Tues for the first time and was able to hang in for about half an hour so I'm going to try it again tomorrow morning.. it was fun and as long as you were moving it didn't really matter that you were off a step or two (at least that's what I'm telling myself)
Steph had 5 days off  so we might do some shopping in Vegas this weekend.
Lady just growled to tell me it's time for Molly to go to bed and she can have a special "Molly's in bed treat" Molly likes to try to take her treats away from her and Lady's not letting anything come betwween her and her treats.

More about Molly

Molly is a beautiful black cocker puppy with big eyes and full of energy.. She looks so tiny around Lady. Her birth mother is a buff cocker named Lady so when she ran in our house she thought Lady was her momma and wanted to nurse...Lady was really confused.. Molly jumped around Lady and played and Lady growled some but it didn't bother Molly.
We've had her two nights and she's slept really good both nights in her crate..so far so good.

No time to blog

That's not really true but it's the only reason I have for not blogging yet about Molly.. so here goes..
Lady is proud to announce that Molly has been added to our family as a playmate for her so she doesn't get lonely. So far Lady is tolerating Molly ok. They have some fun moments then some moments where Lady looks at me and says WHY....
It's been a whirlwind week here...First, Mom is visiting with us and she'll be here till next Tues. Then the carpet guys came and installed our new carpet on Sat. It was a cold, rainy and windy day for carpet laying but they got it done and did a good job.. While they were doing the carpet in the house Mom, Steph, Lady and I hung out in the RV talking and playing Yahtzee. Reid had been looking around for a cocker puppy for a couple yrs now but we just hadn't found our Molly yet.. He found her in Vegas Sat morning so I called about her but another buyer was head of us. They'd put a deposit on her but the breeder wasn't sure if they would take her or not so I was to check back later.. Anyway we called again on Sunday and the first buyer decided not to get her (he was getting it for his son and they just decided he was too young for that responsiblity,, so sorry kid you lose) so we headed into town to get her.. That's when we went throught the mountain pass and actually got snow on my car...can you believe Reid drove through snow instead of turning around and going back.
So now with Molly in the crate on the back seat of my car we head back to our new house with our new carpet and new furniture with a new 10 week old puppy to train...Are we nuts...probably...or just puppy lovers.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that during all this I've had my worse allergy attack in 5 yrs... I'm not sure whats triggered it, could be a combination of things but I hope it's over soon.
Believe it or not both puppies are sleeping and I was able to finish this blog before either one needed to go out.

Back on line

Thanks to my genius husband I'm back on my blog. Too bad eveyone missed my last two entries they were great.
Today it's cool, windy and it's calling for rain, we'll see if it happens. There's a cold front moving in from CA and the mountains are expecting up to a foot of snow.. We want see any here thankfully. But it's pretty to look at from a distance.
We are all sitting around the family room with only the recliners in the room waiting for the carpet guys to get here and lay the carpet.. They should be here by 11 and it's getting close to 11 so they better show.
Mom is here and has been since Tues. We're enjoying our visit with her.

NV winds vs TX winds

We'll we have a winner.. I didn't believe it but NV wind was worse today than any TX wind we've had.. The wind blew around 30 MPR all day with gusts over 50 at times. There was so much blowing sand and dirt that you couldn't see the mountains today.. Reid took it in stride though because he had the garage. He was able to get the grill assembled so we can us it on Sunday..
Once the guy is done with the flooring (probably Thur but could be tomorrow) I'll be able to get started vac and dusting.. it's super dusty in the house right now but that's cause the doors have been open with people going in and out for various reasons.
We're probably going into town (Vegas) Fri to pick out carpet and get it ordered.. we don't have any idea when they will be able to work on it but we hope it's soon.

Pahrump for a few weeks

OK we're here.. We arrived yesterday and have been busy getting stuff out of the RV. Getting it organized has been the hardest cause once I put it somewhere I have to remember where I put it.
Today we got started on the flooring.. The guy doing the work was here by 9 and he was still here at 6:00 but he wanted to finish the one bedroom. Tomorrow we'll start on Steph's room and then the dining room will be last. Reid helped with the flooring while I went grocery shopping.. I let myself run out of so much stuff that I needed to stock up again. (Reid's wanting some home cooked meals this week)
Either Wed or Thurs we'll drive into Vegas and get our carpet ordered. We're hoping they can get started on that soon but that might take a few weeks to get it done if they are backlogged. We're going to be here till sometime in June but I'll keep you posted on what we're doing and whose stopping by.. We're expecting a fun spring with several visitors.

Apache Junction, AZ

We arrived in Apache Junction around noon yesterday. We like to avoid the Phoenix area and we're close to Nancy and Bob here. We're at the KOA again and it's really full. We use the KOA cause till now we haven't been "old enough" to use the 55+ parks and Reid's opinion is "they didn't want our money before I was 55 they can't have it now".
Reid and his sayings.. he's got one for just about everything, LOL.
Bob and Nancy came over about 3 yesterday with a gift for Lady.. They keep her in toys.. Lady kept us entertained while we waited on the steaks to cook. The we sat around the heater and talked till about 7:30 and since we made plans to go out early today we called it a night.
Today we're heading to the Flea Market. When we were here in Sept we found some pictures in one of the booths that we really liked and we're hoping to find a couple for the walls at the house. After that we're going to try Nando's Mexican Cafe.. Nancy and Bob like it so we want to check it out too. I've told Reid before that we should do restaurants reviews cause we love to eat out and we always have opinions.

Continuing our trip

Reid is outside getting stuff ready to travel, no wait, I see he's talking to someone and pointing to the car...my car. Yes, it gets a lot of attention..but usually not when I'm in it.. what's up with that..
We're heading to Apache Junction, AZ for a couple of nights.. Bob and Nancy are in Mesa and we have plans to get with them this afternoon. It should be a great day for grilling out and visiting..Tomorrow they are taking us to try another Mexican restaurant.. We're always looking for good Mexican food.
We've had a fun time in Tucson and the weather has been wonderful. I love seeing a smile on Reid's face (for those whose never see him smile visit us in Pahrump)
The weather has been wonderful all week even the day that was suppose to be windy and cool didn't get as bad as forecasted.
On Sunday we'll be getting back to the house. Our neighbor, the fix it guy has installed our new patio door and put the concrete side walk in leading from the RV to the patio so we already have improvements done and we're not even home yet. I'm glad the side walk is done it was just uneven rocks before and that was an accident waiting to happen for me..
We have about 9 days to get the bedroom flooring done before Mom arrives for her two week visit..She and I are already making plans for her two weeks.

Foreigner concert

Thursday night was our last night in Tucson. We stayed in town for the Foreigner concert and it didn't disappoint.. Reid is the big fan but after 30yrs of being married to him I knew a few of their songs and just to make sure Reid kept the radio in the car on their hits for the last two weeks. It was a fun night. Most of the crowd was Reid's age so they grew up listening to them..There were some young people there too but the boomers out numbered them.
