Not alot to talk about

You guys know when we're not moving around I'm limited as to what there is to talk about but since I'm never at a loss for words I'll give it a shot..
We've been back in town for a couple of weeks now and it's just like the rest of the country.. hot..we actually had a couple of pop up thunderstorms Sun and Mon afternoons.. the front moved in, our temps when from 100's to the 60's and 70's, the wind picked up, the rains flooded the roads...this all lasted about 15 minutes then the sun pops back out the humidity rises and it was worse afterwards than before the storm blew in.. The last couple of days has been better with the lower humidity levels.
We drove into Vegas on Tues to go to the mall and have lunch.. I needed the jewerly department and would you believe the Penney's that I had mapped out was a home store only meaning furniture but no jewerly department so now I have to make another trip to another location.. I wasn't sure how to get there on Monday and Steph was with me and she was ready to get back home so we didn't try and find it...This is when I need someone to run around with who likes to go shopping...any takers..
I spent last weekend going through the storage containers we brought back from TN and getting that stuff organized and put away this weekend I'll be getting Danny's room ready.. he's arriving in town on Tues so that will be a fun week for me.
I wanted to add a pic so I choose these two. Everyone knows Lady.. she saw a statue that we have of a black cocker spaniel (Molly) on the colum on the patio.. it's been there for several days but she just saw it last night and she wanted it.. not sure if she thought it was Molly or just liked it better cause it doesn't bother her.

The second pic is Molly trying to climb a tree.. We were in NE and she ran out of the RV straight to this tree.. she was fixed on it and as I scanned higher I saw why!!!there was a squirrel up there.. She never saw it but she smelled it..

See no one can ever say I don't have the gift of gab..

Back in NV

What a week.. We left MI last Sunday for IN and some work to be done on the RV and a week later we're back in the house in NV..We never go anywhere that fast and don't really like traveling that fast but everywhere we were planning on going was going to be hit by another heatwave and we decided not to hang around for that.. It's just to hot and miserable. The inside temp in the MH is about 90 with two A/C running if the outside temp is 100 so that's to hot for anyone.

We did travel through a couple of new states for us.. IA and NE so that was fun.. I enjoyed the cornfields and before you ask yes I was awake for a lot of it.. We pulled some pretty good mountains coming into UT. Above is a picture of us driving through Virgin River Gorge between St George UT and then north west corner of AZ

This one is of the dirty river, they'd had rain recently so I'm guessing that's what made it sooooo muddy.

This one shows how the road curves through the mountain. you can see a truck in front of us then more road winding around the next hill. It was neat.
(bet you wish I didn't know how to do pic's now don't you,.)
I'll try to keep up with what's going on here but we want be doing any traveling till Oct/Nov but we have family and friends visiting so I'll be updating about that.. of course there'll be pic's for the girls..

What's Molly doing

I took Molly out earlier and she started sniffing and walked over to the tree then looked up. She went all the way around the tree and she really wanted to climb it.. She'd never done this before but she was real interested in this tree.. I heard something and looked up and there was a squirrel looking down at us/her.. she'd "treed" her first squirrel and she didn't even see it.

Traveling west this week

We've been in Nebraska for a couple of days and we'll be going farther west in the morning.. We're in Lincoln NE now.. We found a Carlos O'Kelly's mexican restaurant yesterday. We had found this chain a few yrs back when we were in KS so we wanted to try it again.. It was wonderful.. I tried the Sancho Especial with chichen.. It was great.. I wish I'd gotten another order to go.. (it was that good)

The weather has been good for the first few days on this trip but we're heading back into the heatwave with 100 degree temps again. Don't expect to find any relief now till fall (lol)

Good news the fridge is working great and the A/C at the house is fixed so that's really great news.

Fridge is fixed

I'm happy to report that the new fridge is in the RV and cooling wonderfully. They said they had another half day of work to do on it but after checking to see what was still needed it was only a little cosmetic work and we didn't want to hang around another day for that so we had them to put a couple of panels back on and we were ready to leave. Since we weren't having more work done the girls didn't have to go back to the day care (or jail) as Reid called it.. Lady really didn't enjoy the experience..

We left IN around 10am and headed west. We are traveling I-80 for the first time so we're seeing some new things. I've never been to IA before but I think it looks like TN..(corn fields and barns)

We stopped at Iowa City for the night in a small RV park.. It's a nice little shady park. I walked a mile earlier and I had to circle the RV about 12 times to get a mile in so that shows you how small a park it is.. Tomorrow we're heading on our way and will be stopping in NE for a couple of days..NE is also a new state for me..

Pup's day out

Today was the day the girls headed to the kennel. I hated it but it had to be done.. The rig was inside the shop all day with no air so it was the best thing for the them although Lady didn't think so. The workers said that she actually did better with Molly than without her.. I knew she loved her..

The new fridge is installed and cooling down now.. actually it's already cooler than the one we took out and it's only going to get cooler. They have some touch up work to do but that's all that's left although they said it would be take half a day to finish and I said "that's because they charge by the hour" any way they will get started in the morning and the girls will go back for one more day.. We're leaving on Wed heading to IA..

Elkhart IN

We arrived in Elkhart today and it's been a pleasant day. The temps haven't been as high as the past several days and there's a very comfortable breeze blowing..
We're at the RV repair place for the night and hopefully they will start to work on our RV first thing in the morning.. (The guy parked near us said he was told to be here last Monday and he's still waiting for work to begin, we're just hoping it was because of the holiday that they had him wait..) If they do get started tomorrow it will be a long day for us.. the girls are going to the puppy daycare and I'll have to find things to amuse myself.. (I haven't seen a mall around here)
Steph called today to let us know the AC at the house is OUT.. what's next.. it's only going to be between 106-112 the next few days for her..

feeling the heat

I'm from Middle Tenn and lived in South GA for 5 yrs and I'm going to say that the heat we've experienced these past two weeks have been some of the hottest I've ever seen. I've been told that this area has been about 23 degrees above average.. Did you know that the heat wave is cooling down tomorrow with highs only in the mid 80's and the evenings in the 50's WOW...the day we're leaving town the heat wave breaks.. Does anyone want to say that Reid brought this heat wave to MI.. We have been asked real nicely to hurry up and leave.

In spite of the heat we had a good time last night with our friends. We grilled out hotdogs with Peggy and Jimmy and Bob and Nancy. It's a small world isn't it.. We've bought into this membership park about 5 yrs ago cause we'd be spending time in this area and it is Bob and Nancy's park too. We met Peggy and Jimmy in Texas through her brother, Larry a couple years ago. We had no idea that they lived only about 10 miles for our park so it was fun seeing some of our TX friends this summer.  We also saw Rita and Dan this trip too.

We waited till about 10:20 for the fire works to begin and once they did Molly wasn't the least bit impressed.. she went crazy.. she was on a leash but she was running trying to get away for the noise and so scared that it was sad. I grabbed her up as soon as I could catch her and we headed inside to finish watching but she was still so nervous.. She wanted to sit beside my legs slightly under them but she didn't want to be held.. lucky for us the "show" didn't last long and once the noise stopped she was ok.. Lady sat outside with Reid and quietly watched them all.. In Molly's defense it was her first fireworks so hopefully it will get better next year.

Tomorrow we're heading back to Elkhart. We have an apt to get the fridge replaced. We don't know how long we'll be there but hoping it's only a couple of days..From there we're heading to NV.. It's too hot to be in the RV all summer when we have a house in NV (although once we head back the headwave will end!!!!) Not sure where we're going on our trip back but I believe it might be some new states for us.. So I'll be keeping you informed on the travels..

Danny is coming to visit the end of July so that will give me something to look forward to.

What! another pic of the girls

I still remember how to add a picture.. too cool.. Lady is wondering why Molly likes to sit beside her so much.. I think Molly just likes to be where the camera is.

We're going to be leaving MI on Sunday..This heatwave is getting to us. Why does MI have a heatwave everytime we come here..

Since it's been so hot all over the country we've decided to just head back toward NV. It might be hot there but the humidity is usually very low.. We have to stop in Elkhart IN for a couple of days to get our fridge replaced then we'll head on our way.. Not sure which route we'll take yet, we'd talked about UT and CO but we're watching the fires out in UT, CO and WY and will try to stay where the air quality is good. High altitude and  fires wouldn't make breathing easy for Reid.
I'll keep you posted on where we're going.
