this can't be happening again

When we first starting coming to the valley about 5-6 yrs ago I remember nice Oct and Nov's with some transitional winter weather in Dec then Jan/Feb being nicer but the last couple of years the cold fronts have started arriving earlier and it's miserable.. I don't like cold weather and anything under 70 is cold to me.. We'll it's 52 this morning and I don't like it. We come this far south for warm weather not cold windy drizzle..
No this isn't Reid on my blog it's Debbie...and I'm cold.
We've been in the 90's all week (I can handle the 90's just not the humidity) but yesterday the front moved in and the temps started dropping.. We dropped 20 degrees in 2-3 hrs and then it kept dropping throughout the night.. It's not just the temp either the wind is howling (like you'd hear in Jan with a raging snow storm) It's cloudy (probably wont see the sun at all today) for now it's not raining so that's a good thing I guess. I tried to walk but it was just to miserable with all that blowing wind. We aint staying all winter if this trend continues.. We can't have any fun in this weather we might as well not be here.
Enough venting: I have crock pot full of beef stew so I have supper already cooking.. I've got some taped shows that I will get to watch today (around any football that I might wont to watch) so I will make the best of today..
In a couple of days the sun will be back out and the temps back to the 80's and this weekend will be a memory.. Check back to see how our weather goes.

Monday

It's a sunny Monday morning. Not to windy so that's good. Molly and I have already walked the block.. she's was drooping by the time we got back.. her tongue was dragging.. she's not use to humidity.. it's only in the low 70's but that blasted humidity wore her out.. She really needed a walk cause she was running circles around the RV (before 8am) she's napping now.
I have to go drop off my thyroid medicine bottle for refill today and We're going to head to McAllen for lunch at Jason's Deli.. Thought about it yesterday then decide not a good thing to do on a Sunday.. That's another CON for here...going out to eat on the weekend is not possible.. it's too crowded and restautants have a long waiting list.. (I know for a fact that Cracker Barrel can have a three hour wait on weekends)

The park isn't busy yet.. Several arrived this past week and more are expected this coming week. The bulk of our activities will begin on Nov 1. I have plenty to keep me busy till then with straightening and organizing the two places.

Leisure Valley

We're here. 6 days on the road and we're here now. We arrived about 1ish and backed the RV in and went to lunch.. We knew the rest of the afternoon would be filled with unpacking the casita and getting the golf cart ready.. Reid's pacing himself and that's probably all we'll get done..
Molly is trying to break out of the RV door so she must be tired of RV life already. Lady is napping.

Karen, Bob, Lea, Dan and Jan have stopped so I've already been visiting.

I was checking out the rec center earlier and there's things already posted to do so I'll need to get signed  up for them

Almost there

We arrived in San Antonio yesterday about 1pm. We're staying at Alamo Fiesta.. We've stayed here several times before. It's north of the city and we're only staying one night.

Once we got set up it was off to Sea Island Shimp House..This place is wonderful. We don't find a lot of good local Mom and Pop seafood places away from the coast but we found this place last year and went back there for lunch. I guess they are close enough to the coast to get fresh seafood. It was very tasty.. We had enough left over that I have another meal of leftovers.

Today we're up early and heading through San Antonio hopefully before rush hour but if the interstate sounds are any indication we're too late. This is our last leg of this trip. We should arrive in Mission and our park this afternoon. The girls are ready for some days off of traveling (me included.)

Molly is wanting to play and Reid is trying to work so I'll close.

Another Traveling day

We headed out around 8 this morning. We didn't want to hit rush hour in El Paso.. We just want to buzz through that town.. it's not one of the safest places (listen to me we live on the border all winter)
The girls have traveled so well this week. You expect it with Lady cause she's just that good.. but we didn't know how Molly would do out of her crate (we still used the crate with her on our summer trip)but she's done really great.. Last night Molly climbed up on the bed and fell asleep long before I tried to make her lay down.. I was so surprised but she slept there the rest of the night. Right now she and Lady are sleeping side by side in the kitchen.. Traveling really tires them out which is funny cause they sleep most of the time we're on the road.

We made reservations at all our parks for this trip except here cause you usually don't need a reservation and they never answer the phone with you call.. When we pulled in it was really full but we tried to check in anyway but the sign on the door in small print said "we're full" So we headed to the other RV park (there's only two or three in this area) and lucky for us it had a few openings.. We'd stayed here before and the office worker was really rude so we'd been going to the other one but it looks like it's all permanents now instead of RV'ers..

Once we got set up we headed out to eat. We found a place called K'Bob's Steak house.. We tried it and it was good. They had a full salad bar plus steaks, burgers, chicken and seafood.  I tried the smothered chicken and salad and Reid had steak and fries..

Tomorrow it's off to San Antonio and we're having supper at Sea Island. Yeah... it's the closest place we've found to our Alabama favorite Shrimp Basket.

Las Cruses, NM

This is the second time I'm typed this (before google new updates it would automatically save stuff so you didn't lose anything but not since the updates.. so everything I'd typed (three paragraphs) is lost.. so here goes again. I hope I remember to type a word then save it..

We left Apache Junction and headed south (I think) anyway it was toward Tucson.. We didn't plan to stop in Tucson this trip so we kept going till we got to Las Cruses.. It was a long travel day but in order to stop here it was necessary.. Our favorite Mexican Restaurant of all time is here.. it's called La Posta and they have the best Sour Cream Chichen Enchalida's I've ever had.

We arrived here around four (hit a time zone so we lost an hr) and once we got set up and the girls settled we headed over to Mesilla for an early supper. The food was as good as ever.
The rest of the night was spend chillin and watching TV..I didn't sleep that well cause Molly didn't sleep as good as she had been doing but it wasn't too bad either.  She only wakes up when we do (we need potty breaks too) and most of the time she settles back down pretty quickly but only after a trip outside.. (don't what her the have any accidents on my bed).. By the time I get both the girls taken out and back inside it's been 20 minutes so you can see why I never sleep straight through the night. Once they were up at 7 and they'd been walked, treated and fed I went back to bed and Molly came too.. It was surprising to me that she napped again with me.. We slept till 10. I needed it.

We're going to La Posta again for a late lunch and then to Walmart for some Pepsi and Sundrop. It's an easy trip cause I can see the Walmart sign from my window..

Tomorrow we leave for Fort Stockton for an overnight..Then in to San Antonio for a couple of days.

Apache Junction, AZ

We arrived in AJ about 11 this morning and we had another good travel day.. We left Kingman and it was a cool, very cool but when we arrived here it was mid 90's so I was loving it.. I was actually too warm this afternoon as we were sitting outside visiting.
Nancy and Bob headed over to our place about 1pm and we visited for a while and they played with the girls (they also brought toys for the girls, ) Molly loved hers but didn't quiet understand that Lady's squirrel wasn't hers too.. We all know that Molly hasn't learnt the fine art of sharing yet.

We headed over to Garcia's Mexican Restaurant for a late lunch. Bob and Nancy had eaten there before and thought it was good so we wanted to try it too and we both agreed it was good. I went with the Sour Cream Chicken Enchalida's.. that's my favorite...

We came back to the RV park after we ate and visited a while longer with Nancy and Bob.. We have an early day tomorrow cause we're going about 400 miles (yes in one day).. If we get to Las Cruses earlier enough we're going to our all time favorite Mexican Restaurant called La Postas. We don't get good mexican food in south Texas so we have to get it on the way there.

Travel day one

Today's travel day went great. We left Pahrump about 9:15 this morning and drove around the mountain instead of going over the mountain. The grade is steep so Reid wanted to try going around.. it was a little longer but worth it.. It was pretty scenery too so it was good to try another route.
We arrived in Kingman around 1:00 and after lunch at the Iron Skillet (yes a truck stop) we got set up and our campsite.. We actually had to pull out our sweatshirts tonight and that's too cold for me.

Tomorrow we head to Apache Junction, AZ.. That will be another overnight stop.. We're going to check out Garcia's Mexican Restaurant with Nancy and Bob tomorrow..

Last night was Molly's first night to sleep outside the crate or closed laundry room. She slept at the foot of our bed and did so for only about four hours but it's a start and we're hoping she'll get better each day.

Leaving NV on Saturday

It's time to head to TX.. We're all packed and we're leaving here in the morning.  A cold front moved through yesterday and it's been raining and cooler than normal. The mountains have snow on them. Sounds like a good time to leave but it's going to warm back up by early next week.
Lady knows the routine and has been excited the last few days waiting to get on the road.. Molly has no clue what's going on. We've been moving into the RV all day and I think we're done.. Lady is napping and Molly is exploring.
We're going to Kingman, AZ tomorrow for an overnight and then stopping in Apache Junction on Sunday for another overnight stop.. Nancy and Bob are in Mesa so we'll be seeing them while we're there.
I'll be updating this week as we travel toward Mission.. Stay tuned
