The girls

Molly is looking down cause she dropped her toy.. it was a ball.. she couldn't believe she got all the way on the dash of the RV only to drop her ball..

Lady posing for me on one of our travel days..

(I need to write down how I did this cause I want remember next time I want to send a pic) which will probably be later today when the girls get back from their Doggie day spa..

The lake

Oh my gosh... I got this  picture on my blog and I'm not sure how I did it. but if I can figure it out I might be able to put important pictures on my blog without having to involve Reid..
Pic's of my girls, that's about all I have..
I'm going to try another one..

Waldenwoods in MI

Once we left IN our next stop is Waldenwoods in Hartland, MI. Waldenwoods is a membership park that we stay in when we're in MI.. We'll be here thru the July 4th weekend. We're having fireworks on July 6th and I'm not sure why they aren't doing them on July 4th.. So odd..

We arrived about 2 Sunday afternoon and got set up fast so we could head to Novi and Famous Dave's for supper.. We have several friends from Mission, TX that live in this area so we met with Rita and Dan and Peggy and Jimmy. It was good to catch up with them.. Rita and Dan were leaving today heading north for the summer so last night was the only chance to see them.. We had a great time catching up with them..

When we got back to the RV our friends in the site beside us invited us over to met some family of theres so we visited a while and had pie (Yes pie purchased in Shipshewana.. I mentioned the pie earlier..it's that good)

We're going to be in this area for 2 weeks and we're playing it by ear as to what we'll be doing while we're here..

The girls are having a spa day today and I'm going shopping with Peggy tomorrow. Besides that I hope to get in a lot of walking. There's a beautiful lake here that I can walk around. Reid has informed me that the high here on Thurs will be near the 100 mark so we're not looking forward to that.. It rare when they have a heat wave here but Reid's here so we can expect hot, humid and rain.

What a week

I'll sum up our week at Shipshewana: plenty of fun, hot, busy, hot, plenty of food  and hot.. that's about it. We all had a wonderful time seeing each other and hanging out around the empty fire pit (there was a burn ban so no fires but who needs a fire when it's 95 degrees). Our nightly entertainment was Molly and Randy playing with each other while Lady looked on..
Randy is a german shepard that is so mild mannered.. he's wonderful with other animals. He let Molly trample all over him..

We had to check out the local restaurants.. We always go to Das Essenhaus so we headed over there on Monday. It was good and we all had fun.. We also tried a new place called Blue Gate and we (Reid and I) thought it was better this time than Das.. They also serve family style just like Das but we just thought the food was so much better.. This place even had bread pudding and it's my favorite dessert.. Although the Butterscotch pie was wonderful too.. (did not have two desserts the same day.)

Tues we hung out at the Flea market.. We found a couple of pictures for the house.. They are Thomas Kincade and I just love his cottage scenes..

Beside the above we drove to Michawaka, IN one day to get Reid's med's and the rest of the week we stayed local..

Some of the group had to leave on Saturday and the rest of us left on Sunday.. We don't know when we'll all be in the same area again but we all get together when we can.

Shipshewana, IN

We arrived in Shipshewana today after a short drive. We'll be here a week. Some of our RV friends were going to be in the area so we're getting to see them too.  We all wanted to go out for a late lunch early supper so we headed over to Goshen. It's a good drive but everything is closed in Shipshewana on Sunday (except for the RV park and a couple of gas stations) After supper we headed back to the RV park to visit and chill out. Today was Bob's birthday so we had cake and sang happy birthday to him.

Tomorrow is our outing to Das Essenhaus, an Amish style family restaurant, it's a "must" when we're in town..

George if  you're reading this we hope your feeling much better and gaining strength each day.. Prayers are with you.

I need to catch up on this blog

I was so busy last week I didn't get a chance to blog.. We got to Shelbyville Sunday afternoon went to our favorite place for a late lunch, El Mexico.. Now a lot of people don't like it but it's one of the best places in all our travels for the type of Mexican food we like.. If it says authentic we don't want it..

Next I showed up at the night serivce of my old Church thinking my Mother In Law was going to be there (since she said she was).. She never showed.. We're still laughing about that. At least there were several people there I hadn't seen in yrs to visit with so all was good.

Monday was a busy day. In order to see as many as I can I have to schedule tight so I visited with Mom and borrowed her car.. Heading to my Mom's for a quick visit then my sister followed me to the Chinese restaurant (we always do that when I'm in town) for an early quick lunch,  from there I pick up my SIL Mary and she rides with me to my dr apt so we get to visit on the way there and back. Next I met Reid back at his Mom with the girls so Mom can see how much Molly has grown and she has a nice supper ready for us.. Now I'm wore out and two more hectic days to go.

Tues was some of the same. I visited with Jennifer and her wonderful babies, sorry Claire and Sam I know you're not babies but your our babies.. Kate is the baby and a doll.. I met Lisa (a work buddy)  for lunch then back to my Mom's.. From there I picked up the girls and heading back to Reid's Mom cause Jennifer was meeting me there with the kids so they could play with Lady and Molly.. It was really good for Molly to play with kids, she's not been around any since we've had her and she was wonderful with them.. They all wore each other out..

Wed we tackled our storage building trying to decide what we should keep and take back to NV and what should go.. We got rid of over half of it either trashing it or giving to my sister to put in her yardsale .

We enjoyed our time in TN and thanks to Michael and Rose for letting us stay in their parking lot for three days.. (no RV parks in our home town)

On Thurs we headed to KY and overnighted (boondocked) in Bowling Green.. (read about this on Reid's blog)

We arrived in Anderson IN on Friday for a couple of nights so I've been able to get my laundry caught up.. Tomorrow is another travel day..

I enjoy updating this site and when I hear that people love to follow us it makes it more fun.. So Thanks Grace for keeping up with us on our travels and it was great seeing you again.

NTSP

We've been on the road almost two weeks and I will say it's been a pretty good two weeks.
The girls have travels good together.. Molly is a puppy so you have to expect puppy things from her and Lady is the Apha and some times she doesn't like Molly around but other times they are fine together..
Molly is traveling great and sleeping even better.. I put her in her crate (bedroom) between 9-10 and she sleeps till 6am (I do wish she would sleep later than that but she doesn't) so I get up with the girls around 6 then go back to bed.. works for us all.

Reid is healing slowly, very slowly.. it's been four weeks since his rib injury and he still has pain with it usually when he coughs or sneezes, and he gets sore at night when he's sleeping but he is on the mend..

I'm great.. loving this life.. feeling good and walking every day.

We're in TN right now at NTSP (Nathez Trace State Park) It's beautiful. I had forgotten how green and lush this area is in the summer time. We usually avoid it in June, July and Aug.. but we arrived on Wed and we'll be here till Sunday. We have a lake side site and the view is beautiful. We're going to be grilling out later today. The weather is unseasonally cool. We're enjoying mid 80's and lite breeze instead of 100's and high humidity..

Once we leave here we'll be in our home town for a few days visiting family and friends and seeing Dr's then leaving on Thursday heading north. We've heard the north might be warmer than average this summer if so we want stay there long.. that's the beauty of traveling we have no plans past July 8th and we can go where it's nicer..

Amarillo

To piggy back Reid's post....it got better I baked him some chocolate chip cookies.
We're in Amarillo today.. The wind is blowing like crazy and they have thunderstorms heading our way so add Reid's injuries on to it and it's not a great day but we're blessed so it will be ok.
Molly is getting her first taste of wind blowing again the RV and she might get to hear some thunder later so that will keep it interesting. Tomorrow we head to OK for the night.
